Which sequence of rigid transformations will map the preimage ΔABC onto image ΔA′B′C′ ? a reflection across the x-axis, a translation 8 units right, and then a reflection across the x-axis a translation 4 units down and 10 units to the right a reflection across the line y = x followed by a rotation 90° counterclockwise a rotation 180° clockwise followed by a reflection across the x-axis

OpenStudy (love_ranaa):

Well let's try to eliminate some things. We can automatically eliminate A because a reflection would cause the points to change position

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (love_ranaa):

B is wrong too because the triangle wouldn't be in the position it is in

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that eaves c and d

OpenStudy (love_ranaa):

Right..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so...?

OpenStudy (love_ranaa):

@jeffyblood Thanks :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its D right? across the x axis with reflection?

OpenStudy (jeffyblood):

It looks like it

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Really not that har, but what most people seem to fail to see is when you rotate it, the positions of the corners change. One of those answers has more work than needed, but if you think about that work, you will see it is able to be ingored.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

D is wrong

OpenStudy (anonymous):

C is wrong.

OpenStudy (desiraem):

It's A! for plato users. You're welcome.
