OpenStudy (oreolover4876):

why is it important for an organism to maintain homeostasis?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What i know is that homeostasis would mean an process through how an organism maintains certain internal conditions.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Each organism has their own internal conditions, there are cause and effects to it and for example if humans have an temperature that can allows us to live well, if we are cold then we can froze to death, same things for other living things too.

OpenStudy (dominantvampire):

Homeostasis is the process through which an organism maintains certain internal conditions, such as a human body's internal mechanisms maintaining body temperature at a specific level to prevent over or under heating; this process is important because it makes it possible for cells and organs to function properly

OpenStudy (dominantvampire):

Answer to homeostasis without homeostasis, cells within an organelle, or certain enzymes (better yet) can become misshapen or even damaged.

OpenStudy (kaederfds):
