OpenStudy (mg_s1994):

what would james k. polks dreams for america be?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

He strongly believed in manifest destiny, which is the belief that the expansion of the US throughout the American continents was both justified and inevitable.

OpenStudy (mg_s1994):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no problem :]

OpenStudy (mg_s1994):

what do you think he would do about slavery I know he had slaves but was he strict about views on slavery? @solidrebirth

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes, he owned slaves and was a southerner, so I don't think he would have wanted to end slavery. From what I can remember, he wasn't strongly passionate about either pro-slavery or anti-slavery. He did not think slavery should exist in the newer territories, but did not want to enforce the Wilmot Proviso, which would have forbid it in those new territories.
