two lines area parallel if there slopes area the same Ex y= 3x + 1 and y = 3x + 6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y= mx + b where m is the slope

mhm mhm thats slope-intercept form!

sammixboo (sammixboo):

Yes, for it to be parallel it MUST have the same slope and different y-intercepts. So that marks out A and B for #1. To find out if it is parallel, plug in the coordinates into both equations in C and D and see if the equations are true. One is true and one isn't. The one that si true it your answer!
