What was the first act that the Parliament passed in an attempt to raise revenue by taxing the American colonists? The Quartering Act: obligated colonial legislations to meet the needs of British soldiers stationed in that colony The Stamp Act: mandated that colonists affix stamps to certain legal and commercial documents The Declaratory Act: stated that the Parliament had the absolute right to impose taxes on the colonists The Revenue Act: taxed goods such as paper and paint that the colonies imported from Britain The Sugar Act: increased the duties on sugar imported from the West Indies
Well Which of these acts from American history are you familiar with and since its colonial America the sugar act isn't applicable since that affected the west indies
The bill was made in direct response to the French and Indian war since Britain was pulled into so much debt that it required money from its American colonies
Would it be A or B?
B since after the french and Indian war the British accrued so much debt they in response taxed all paper or printed products in the colonies this included any form of paper, and this would (they hoped) bring them out of war debt
