Can someone help me with a computer problem? I have a DELL LATITUDE | D830 with a fingerprint scanner on it. The Operating System I have is Fedora 20 and I would like to use my fingerprint scanner and password to get into my Computer. How do I do that?

No I don`t think that will work thanks for the help by the way. I need something for Fedora 20 Operating System.

It looks like you're running the current version of fedora, i.e., 20. on an old Dell D830 (2007) ver which has no module management support for your fingerprint scanner.

Have you also checked the bios to enable the scanner support Is it on board scanner or via USB and, what type of brand scanner it is if USB and last, you need to check their site if they have any drivers for your hardware, hope this helps

I figured it out but thanks for your time and help. To do so you go to settings and in your account there is an option for fingerprint scanning.
