FAN & MEDAL PLEASE HELP *picture in comments* What is the distance (in units) between points C and D? Round your answer to the nearest hundredth.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i can do the rounding part

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hi @TheHangingTree! So what we do first is identify the points on the graph! Do you know how to do that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no, i don't, im sorry !

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh it's fine I can help! :) If you look at it closely you'll see two black points next to letters C and D. Points C: -2 Point D: 5 Do you understand so far @TheHangingTree?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

All right great! Now by now you should know how to count on a number line right? So what we're going to do is count UP from -2! You know how to do that right? If not I can show you it's really easy once you get it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@TheHangingTree

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is it 5?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

like counting up, is it 5?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Let's see because you are counting UP from -2 to 5. Do you know how to do that @TheHangingTree?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohhhh i though point D was on the number 3! Would it be 7?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

idk if im disconected but it says your still typing

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well it could be on 3 because there is a Y axis and an X axis. Point C has a -2 point on the X axis and it's point on the Y would be 0 since the point is literally on the line. Point D has a 3 point on the X axis and 5 is the point on the Y axis. But I'm just going to count up from -2 to 5 because it's easier that way. -2,-1,0,1,2,3,4,5! Count the numbers and you're answer would be 8.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Wait do you have multiple choice answers?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohhh

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes !

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Alright can I see them?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

these are the mulitple choice: 2.24 units 3.16 units 6.40 units 7.07 units

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Then yes 7.07 would be right because 7.07 rounded to the nearest hundredth is 8 @TheHangingTree!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohh! okay! thank you sooooooooooooooo much!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No problem! I hope I helped! Good luck with whatever it is you're studying lol :)
