A store sells packages of comic books with a poster. A poster and 4 comics cost $12.50. A poster and 10 comics cost $18.50. Write a linear function rule that models the cost y of a package containing any number c of comic books.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Denote P for poster and C for comic, and T for total cost. So we have T1 = 4C + P , and T2=P+10C . If you substitute for T the cost of each of the packages, you can solve for the cost of each a single poster and a single comic.
