OpenStudy (kaloemalia):

@butterflydreamer In which sentence does the verb agree with the subject? A. Do Carrie need a ride to the volleyball game? B. Are my grandparents coming to the party today? C. Has the children gotten out of bed yet?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Any ideas?

OpenStudy (bananas1234):

what do you think it is?

OpenStudy (kaloemalia):

A?

OpenStudy (bananas1234):

yep

OpenStudy (kaloemalia):

YAY THANKS! do you agree @NeonStrawsForever ??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A is incorrect.

OpenStudy (kaloemalia):

do you think it is C?

OpenStudy (jordan123321):

why do you think b

OpenStudy (bananas1234):

because a should have does

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Bananas1234 Please. No direct answers.

OpenStudy (bananas1234):

sorry i was going to explain

OpenStudy (bananas1234):

and c should be have

OpenStudy (kaloemalia):

Well all answers are conflicting so it isn't really a direct answer..

OpenStudy (jordan123321):

@NeonStrawsForever look what they said to me

OpenStudy (jordan123321):

try to help other users don't give out direct answers and remember explanation + answer = direct answer user(who asked question): is it A helper: nope user:: is it D helper : nope user" ohhh i got it C right ? helper : nope user: ohh then its defidinetly B helper : yes user :thanks ^^^^^that's also direct answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hm? I don't remember that in the Code of Conduct, but thank you. ^_^

OpenStudy (bananas1234):

sorry, @jordan i am new at this and i saw my mistake and i wanted to correct myseld before it was too late.

OpenStudy (bananas1234):

myself*

OpenStudy (jordan123321):

its ok

OpenStudy (kaloemalia):

yes, it is but nobody agrees so it dosnt matter.. who i agree with is up to me... none of you have more credibility than the other.. but yes, technically it is a direct.

OpenStudy (bananas1234):

anyway read the options out loud you can almost hear the mistake that is what helps me.

OpenStudy (kaloemalia):

I am confused so i am just going to go with A, my original thought.. Bye, and thank you for all of your help :)

OpenStudy (bananas1234):

so if i were to day do you you need a ride that would be correct but if i said do fred need a ride, does that sound correct?

OpenStudy (jordan123321):

no not at all

OpenStudy (kaloemalia):

no

OpenStudy (bananas1234):

right so compare that to option a, does it still sound correct?

OpenStudy (kaloemalia):

i suppose not

OpenStudy (bananas1234):

good so lets look at option c

OpenStudy (bananas1234):

if i were to say have the children gotten out of bed or has the children gotten out of bed what do you think sounds correct?

OpenStudy (kaloemalia):

the 1st one

OpenStudy (bananas1234):

good! so what does that leave you?

OpenStudy (kaloemalia):

b

OpenStudy (bananas1234):

awesome! could you explain why?

OpenStudy (kaloemalia):

i just sounds correct when you verbalize it..

OpenStudy (kaloemalia):

lol idk why i didnt just speak it earlier

OpenStudy (bananas1234):

yep! You are not always going to be able to tell when you say it out loud but most of the time it definitely helps! That is what my grammar teacher told me, and it has helped me.

OpenStudy (bananas1234):

sorry for the confusion earlier, im still finding my way around open study.

OpenStudy (kaloemalia):

Thanks ::)

OpenStudy (kaloemalia):

no problem :)

OpenStudy (bananas1234):

:)
