HELP ASAP! FAN + MEDAL! *will post a pic* Provide a possible situation that the graph shown could represent.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hold on i will post the pic in a minute

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Mehek (mehek14):

ok so what do you think?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hmmm... i dont really get these problems... :(

Mehek (mehek14):

so let's look at the slope in the beginning

OpenStudy (anonymous):

maybe like a guy ran a mile or something like that?

Mehek (mehek14):

the distance increased for a while in the beginning

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i see

Mehek (mehek14):

and then what do you think about the straight line?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

he took a break and kept on going?

Mehek (mehek14):

ok so he took a break for awhile

Mehek (mehek14):

and then about the last slope?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how come it decreases?

Mehek (mehek14):

hmm you tell me

Mehek (mehek14):

is he going farther then where he came from?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think that he was running a mile around a circle or something and the closer he got to the start it decreased?

OpenStudy (acxbox22):

from our graph we can tell that the person moved away from his start position then he stopped for some time then he returned back to his start position at the same pace

Mehek (mehek14):

so he goes back to where he came from

OpenStudy (acxbox22):

now just model a situation after that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah that what i think am i correct?

Mehek (mehek14):

I would say yes

Mehek (mehek14):

so he starts going somewhere, takes a break for awhile, and then goes back to where he started

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yayy! i wish i could give all of you medals but im gonna give it to the person who helped me first... :D thank you guys!

OpenStudy (acxbox22):

for example: (do not use) a mararthon runner ran at a constant speed then he stopped to rest...he then realized he could run no longer and he went back to his car at the start position at a same pace

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ohh ok yeah i will make up my own. :)

OpenStudy (acxbox22):

or a car was going to another city but broke down...after it got fixed it returned back home

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah that's a good one too.
