Besides showing the number of pairs of shoes, harnesses, and chalk bags rented by three groups of climbers, the table shows the total cost of the rentals for each group. Which system of linear equations will help you find the cost of renting each item? @Ahsome
You have to make the linear equations which are 4S + 5H +1B = 23 6S + 6H + 0B = 30 3S + 7H + 5B = 28 Now you have to solve these:
okay wait so how did you come up with those equations ?
Look at the table and row 1 4 Shoes + 5 Harnesses + 1 Chalk Bag = $23
ohhhhh okay, on the problem choices they replaced it with xyz instead of shc so how do i sove for xy in the first equation you gave me ??
You need to make 2 more equations (well, I already made those for you) and then solve for each variable individually.
okay so i got x=3 y=2 z=1 is that right ?
Yes, you are correct! How did you solve those so quickly?
well they gave me options and i just kinda added up the cost and the amount purchased and saw which one got me to $23 and assumed it would lug into the rest
Very good. By the way, the way I solved it, I went to a page on my website: http://www.1728.org/unknwn3.htm and plugged in the numbers there. Well we are both right!!
Awesome , thank you sm for your help
