OpenStudy (tkhunny):
It is defined as the distance3 between Q3 and Q1. These are clearly labeled on a Box&Whisker Plot by the upper and lower limits of the box.
OpenStudy (texaschic101):
interquartile range is Q3 - Q1
Q3 is the end of the box and Q1 is the beginning of the box

it would be easier if u told me the answer and why ?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
r u there @texaschic101
OpenStudy (anonymous):
OpenStudy (texaschic101):
first we find the mean..the average
(9 + 12 + 18 + 20 + 26 + 35) / 6 = 120/6 = 20
now we take every number from the mean (even if its negative, make it positive)
20 - 9 = 11
20 - 12 = 8
20 - 18 = 2
20 - 20 = 0
20 - 26 = -6 = 6
20 - 35 = -15 = 15
now we take the mean of those numbers
(11 + 8 + 2 + 0 + 6 + 15) / 6 = 42/6 = 7
so absolute deviation is 7
