Which quadratic equation has two irrational roots? x^2 + 2x + 2 = 0 x^2 - 5x + 1 = 0 x^2 + 4x + 3 = 0 x^2 + 4x + 4 = 0

OpenStudy (matt101):

If you know the quadratic formula, all you need to do is find b^2-4ac for each equation. If this value is negative, the roots are irrational. Remember, in the quadratic formula you're finding the SQUARE ROOT of b^2-4ac, and you can't have the square root of a negative number.
