A Cylinder is given ang, velo. x & kept on horizontal rough surface the initial velo. was 0 . Find distance travelled by cylinder before it performs pure rolling and work done by friction force?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hoping that coeff of friction is given to be n and radius as r and mass m only force along the horizontal is friction ...so acc of the cylinder should be n*g at the bottom point to avoid slipping....velocity at bottom shud be 0....so r*x=n*g*t if time is t for attaining pure rolling....so you can get t... now for getting distance travelled....apply equations of constant accelerated motion and work done as n*m*g*d(distance travelled)......answer should be right

thanks i figured it out thanks for putting in the effort.
