I do not understand at all Two trains leave the station at the same time, one heading east and the other west. The eastbound train travels at 70 miles per hour. The westbound train travels at 90 miles per hour. How long will it take for the two trains to be 448 miles apart? Do not do any rounding

OpenStudy (anonymous):

east would take 3.2 hours and west would take 2.488888888

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It is asking for one answer. How long it would take to be that far apart from eachother

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think I figured it out

OpenStudy (anonymous):

5.68888888 i think

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Every hour they go a total of 160 miles apart

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So you would divide the total, 448, by 160

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im pretty sure it is 5.68888888

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Which gives you 2.8

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay I put that in and it was correct! thank you

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you are welcome

OpenStudy (anonymous):
