I am having a hard time with some algebra homework, could somebody help!?
a rational function is a polynomial fraction
A function f(x) is called a rational function if and only if it can be written in the form f(x) = \frac{P(x)}{Q(x)} where P\, and Q\, are polynomials in x\, and Q\, is not the zero polynomial.
one approach t is a constant and r is controlled m varies according to the value of r if you divide you may be able to see a little better that m = 1000/t + 1000r
$$ \large { f(x) = \frac{P(x)}{Q(x)} ~where~ P(x)~ and~ Q(x)~ are~ polynomials~ in~ x\\, and ~ Q(x) ~ is ~not~ the~ zero ~polynomial. } $$
Thank you all for your responses! They really helped. ;)
