Can someone help me with this question?

OpenStudy (liv1234):

OpenStudy (liv1234):

@butterflydreamer can you help me out with some of my English?(:

OpenStudy (butterflydreamer):

what do you think it is?

OpenStudy (liv1234):

I was gonna say B, but I'm not sure.

OpenStudy (butterflydreamer):

are you guessing? lol

OpenStudy (liv1234):

No.

OpenStudy (liv1234):

Wait, it couldn't be B. @butterflydreamer

OpenStudy (liv1234):

@butterflydreamer

OpenStudy (butterflydreamer):

lol i think it's b

OpenStudy (butterflydreamer):

tempering means to neutralise..

OpenStudy (liv1234):

So, I was right about it being B? @butterflydreamer

OpenStudy (liv1234):

@butterflydreamer

OpenStudy (butterflydreamer):

well you guessed b then changed your mind so you're just guessing... i'd say it is b because the person is saying how they need to neutralise the truth otherwise it will result in shock right? Therefore to "lessen" the effects of the truth and the shock, they would not directly state the truth. true?

OpenStudy (liv1234):

True.

OpenStudy (liv1234):

That's exactly true, sometimes people will bend the truth or tell what some refer to as a "white lie". @butterflydreamer

OpenStudy (liv1234):

Can you help me with a couple of other questions?(: @butterflydreamer

OpenStudy (butterflydreamer):

LOL precisely. If i help you, i need you to try and answer them yourself first LOL. Then explain to me why you think it is that answer and then i'll "guide" you to solve the question or my opinion okay? :)

OpenStudy (liv1234):

Okay(:

OpenStudy (liv1234):

OpenStudy (liv1234):

@butterflydreamer

OpenStudy (liv1234):

With this one, I'm guessing we can eliminate C, because it's not talking about the consequences of telling the truth, it's just telling us how much strength it takes to tell the whole truth, correct?

OpenStudy (butterflydreamer):

also, i just wanted to tell you that there is no need to continuously re-tag me in the post :) Since i've already commented once, it means every time you make a post or comment, i will be notified automatically.

OpenStudy (liv1234):

Ohh, alright(:

OpenStudy (liv1234):

Also, I think we can eliminate B as well because it has nothing to do with telling the truth. So, do you think I've made a good choice in eliminating C and B?

OpenStudy (butterflydreamer):

yes, you can eliminate C as an option because it doesn't really talk about the consequences of telling the truth. HOWEVER, i'm not sure that you should eliminate B because if you read the first sentence, it tells you this "he was one of the most dreaded music critics in town." SO This means that because he is a critic, this means he always tells the truth right? Or he voices HIS own opinion on music. Then if you read the second sentence it says "But he never anticipated his musical inclinations would lead him to his trial..." So this IMPLIES that because he has been telling the truth, a consequence of this is that he is now in trial? (personally this is my view of the question. Doesn't mean i am 100% correct xD)

OpenStudy (liv1234):

Hmm, true, so with A i think we can eliminate that one as well because it has nothing to do with the truth. So we are left with either B or D. @butterflydreamer

OpenStudy (liv1234):

I honestly think it is B. Because, like with your explanation, I went back and read the line again and it makes sense, because a critic is supposed to tell the truth or at least his own opinion which is the truth in his opinion, and with him telling the truth, it could impact his musical inclinations.

OpenStudy (liv1234):

Because, criticizing others with his truth, will impact his musical career or something like that, I hope I'm making sense lol.

OpenStudy (liv1234):

@butterflydreamer could you help me out with one more question?

OpenStudy (liv1234):

OpenStudy (butterflydreamer):

hmm well i've never read the poem so :O

OpenStudy (liv1234):

i got a 8/9!(:

OpenStudy (liv1234):

the answer to 3, was C D:

OpenStudy (butterflydreamer):

which one was 3? :O
