Students collect data on how long they can hold their breath. They conclude that they can hold their breath within 12 seconds of 34 seconds. What is the possible number of seconds students can hold their breath?
"within" meaning anything 12 or lower because if our maximum is 34 and they could hold it for 12 seconds, they cant hold it longer than 12..
So if 12, in this case, is the highest they can go, what do you think..?
idk because i have to set it up in an inequality formatt
That's fine. We can use the less than or greater than or equal to sign, right? \[\le or \ge \]
yes.
Okay.. 12 ___ 34 Which do you think should go there?
12
No no. Which sign?
oh. less than ot equal to
Use x as the possible number of seconds students can hold their breath. \[12-x \le34\] I think.. I'm not too sure because if the most they've held it has been 12, they can hold it for anything less than 12. So it can be.. \[x \le12\]
im pretty sure it is tht bc tht is the only answer with 12 in it the other ones have 22 and 46 in them
Oh okay.
