OpenStudy (christos):

Probability Can someone please explain to me what is this: http://screencast.com/t/M53ATdxm5 Is it some sort of formula ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes it is a formula @Christos

OpenStudy (christos):

can you please tell me what kind of formula is this. Can you generalize?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think it is for finding the probability of the common elements of S and L

OpenStudy (rational):

Conditional probability! \[P(a\mid b) = \dfrac{P(a \cap b)}{P(b)}\]

OpenStudy (rational):

\(P(a\mid b)\) is read as "Probability of event \(a\) given that event \(b\) already happened"
