okay so the bottom part of the trapezoid is 22.5ft while the top part is 9.5ft. the extra parts are 22.5ft-9.5ft=13ft 13ft/2 = the breadth of the 'triangle' in the trapezoid which is 6.5ft long. the height of the wall is 8ft high so the area of the triangle is 8ftX6.5ft which will get you 52ft2. Since theres 2 of these triangles 52ft2 X 2 = 104ft2. while the area of the rectangle inside is just 9.5ftX8ft =76ft2. So the area of the trapezoid wall is 76ft2 + 104ft2 = 180ft2

area of trapezoid = (sum of parallel sides)* height

i.e. (22.5+9.5) * 8
