What were some of the challenges that prehistoric people faced when creating megalith monuments?

OpenStudy (kaylaprincess):

You must not know what a megalith monument is. Stone Henge ( http://jefferywinkler.com/Stonehenge3.jpg ) can be used as an example of one Megalith Monument of many. Now this was all made in the Prehistorical period. Prehistorical Period? Yes, the prehistorical period is a certain period that came before the inventions of writing or any other methods to record historical data. What was made during the Prehistorical Period? Simple, prehistoric art. Cave paintings, Stonehenge, cupules and more. The making of megalith monuments seemed almost as torture for those who created them. But many who helped create, let's again say, Stonehenge; were very proud to be in the making of such an important/religious monument. Lets imagine humans running around trying to lift thousands of pounds of rocks and tools. Many of these large stones even weighed up to several tons, and could measure fifteen or more feet in height. Many got crushed, sacrificed, burned, squashed, all of the above. No one knew how to write, what writing was, how to make blueprints, what if they had forgotten their plan? They couldn't write it down because that was never a thought to do this thing called " writing " ! By all this information you'd probably question how this even got built, there are many theories. Go find out for yourself. :-) Here is a video that i think is crucial to understand all of this : http://video.pbs.org/video/1636852466/ !! Interesting stuff!! \(\Huge \color{green}{kaylaprincess} \)
