Is there a nicer way say: " Stop giving direct answers?" Or just a more " Do not ignore this" way? A user was giving direct answers today, so I told (him, her) that it was against the CoC. The user ignored me. When I warned (him, her) again, the user started to become mean at me. I got really annoyed...

eclipsedstar (eclipsedstar):

That is common, I get that all the time.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah, but I never got it :(

eclipsedstar (eclipsedstar):

I try to be respectful, but the feelings aren't mutual.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

But I was polite when I told the user...But he her started becoming mean..

OpenStudy (baby_bear69):

I get told off alot when I tell somebody not to give direct answers and I'm just like o.o

OpenStudy (samanthagreer):

just simple please dont give direct anwsers it is agianst the CoC and link the CoC http://openstudy.com/code-of-conduct

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That's a good idea

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Its very common. Just Show them the COC, and try alerting them. If they get aggressive, try to explain yourself. All else fails, report them.

OpenStudy (k_lynn):

Whenever you tell someone-even nicely-not to do something, they will most likely get defensive of themselves and start being rude or mean. There's really nothing you can do about that. We just have to report the DA and move on.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah someone said," WHAT THE H*** U STUPID PPL QUIT SAYIN THAT". IM LIKE O.o OKAY DEN

eclipsedstar (eclipsedstar):

It depends I guess. Some users listen the first time they're told. Others are stone-headed and it takes a mod's action to get them to listen.

OpenStudy (baby_bear69):

So true^

OpenStudy (k_lynn):

Then there are some users who don't listen at all.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but i love direct answers and so do people in tests

eclipsedstar (eclipsedstar):

OS \(cannot\) help on test.

OpenStudy (k_lynn):

But they don't help you learn anything. Which is why they aren't allowed on OS.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Tests arent allowed -_-

eclipsedstar (eclipsedstar):

@mathsciencehistory please read the CoC for more info. http://openstudy.com/code-of-conduct

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well i actually ask first if they want to be taught or just want direct

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@mathsciencehistory Its alright that you do but that's not what OS is for. Its for helping studying. If you want direct answers you can go elsewhere.

eclipsedstar (eclipsedstar):

Yeah, go to Yahoo Answers and some other cheat site. OS is for users that \(want\) to learn. :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if i met some people face to face on here wooo id be so happy

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@EclipsedStar Amen! :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The user gave a direct answer straight away in one of the questions, then I started telling him her,' no direct answers'..The person 'shhh' ed me and gave me an ' :P '

OpenStudy (anonymous):

www.brainly.com is for you. @mathsciencehistory

eclipsedstar (eclipsedstar):

LOL

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Brainly??? Most of the kids that answer those questions are brain dead...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

mathway

OpenStudy (k_lynn):

Not only does direct answers affect the learning process and not help you learn anything, it also affects your work ethic. Like if someone just keeps giving you answers, you're not going to WANT to learn anything anymore, you'll just become lazy and just want the answers.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is the best site i know

OpenStudy (anonymous):

LOL ikr @|Bravely|Mysterious|

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@lordhelix8th Why do you bring this up here?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Lol @Great_And_Powerful! You just tagged a person :D lol

OpenStudy (lordhelix8th):

lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lml

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol you people are funny most of the kids that sign up here just want answers that was my originally reason for signing up

OpenStudy (yanasidlinskiy):

This is common. If you want direct answers, get your hands and feet and body off of OS and go to the mall, brainly, Yahoo Answers, Mathway, Wolphramalpha and I can keep it listing. A nicer way: "Please stop giving Direct Answers for it will result in a suspension from a moderator. Trust me! It's not pretty!"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

MSH you are spamming da question -_-

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so you're a kid, @mathsciencehistory?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

IKR

eclipsedstar (eclipsedstar):

When you signed up, you had to read the CoC, TaC, and PP. I guess many users don't.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I did

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@mathsciencehistory True as it may be, that's not what this site is for. Its for studying. Its called Open Study for a reason. :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but then people got all mad im over here like 0.0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Anyways, I'm going to close this post

OpenStudy (yanasidlinskiy):

Thanks, @RainbowBrony555

OpenStudy (anonymous):

^

OpenStudy (anonymous):

LOL, now everyone on this post is on the 'closed questions' side

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok but people are so uptight over this subject if someone gives direct answers let them if the person wants to be taught teach em

OpenStudy (k_lynn):

http://openstudy.com/study#/updates/53d28796e4b081ba963b19d3 As for your original question about DA's, hopefully that post should explain a little more.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

But that is against the COC. And not the point of the site.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok rules can be broken especially the oh so worshiped coc

OpenStudy (yanasidlinskiy):

That should clarify the unclear.

OpenStudy (k_lynn):

Rules are broken, that's life for you. But the mods are here to help us keep in the OS borders.

eclipsedstar (eclipsedstar):

Nicely said :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

MSH the rules are not made to be broken. If that was so then they would put any rules nilly willy. But the rules are here to keep the site in order.

OpenStudy (yanasidlinskiy):

@lordhelix8th how will you get through college if you DO NOT LIKE TO READ? Epic Fail. Big Time.

OpenStudy (lordhelix8th):

im just saying over 90$ of people do not like to read the coc

OpenStudy (lordhelix8th):

srry %

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ive never read it never will idc about it

eclipsedstar (eclipsedstar):

The CoC is placed for a reason. It's a rule book. Schools have rules, governments do too. Rules are there for a reason. Can you imagine a society without rules?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but still anyway im not saying borders shouldnt be kept im saying why do they and you care sooo much over pointless stuff such as direct answers if someones giving/reciaving them let them

OpenStudy (yanasidlinskiy):

Hha! @lordhelix8th I was just throwing that out there. No need to be sorry;)

OpenStudy (yanasidlinskiy):

I clearly understood what you were talking about.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

receiving**

OpenStudy (k_lynn):

Rules are going to be broken. It just happens. That doesn't make it right. We have the mods to help keep us WITHIN the rules.

OpenStudy (k_lynn):

That's what I was saying.

OpenStudy (lordhelix8th):

bye gona change to another lordhelix pic.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yea i get it theres alot of rules that are needed but some are just uneccary if its not hurting anything it doesnt matter who doesnt like it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I shouldn't have replied, these notifications are annoying... e_e
