OpenStudy (thedj4jc):

Click on the solution set graphic until the correct one is displayed. {point in Quadrant I} {point in Quadrant II} {} Or empty set Picture in replies

OpenStudy (thedj4jc):

@luffingsails Would you mind looking at this?

OpenStudy (luffingsails):

What do you need to know about it?

OpenStudy (luffingsails):

I don't quite understand the initial information I guess.

OpenStudy (thedj4jc):

I can't figure out which the answer is. I don't understand how it's not in both Quadrant 1 and 2.

OpenStudy (thedj4jc):

The answers given you have to click through till you find the one that right. There's only three options, but I don't understand how to find which is the answer.

OpenStudy (luffingsails):

So all that you are given the is picture and what you wrote?

OpenStudy (thedj4jc):

Pretty much.

OpenStudy (luffingsails):

Huh... lol... I'm staring at it and it's not making sense yet. Can you come back to it? I'll keep looking at it.

OpenStudy (thedj4jc):

I can, thank you!!

OpenStudy (luffingsails):

What happens when you click on the different solution sets?

OpenStudy (thedj4jc):

It just changes to one of the other options.

OpenStudy (luffingsails):

I'll have to see the set for each click to help, I think. Sorry.

OpenStudy (thedj4jc):

The answers I put above are the set options, but none of them make any sense.

OpenStudy (luffingsails):

The trouble with what I see is I am not sure if the problem is asking for the intersection of all of the lines or just one of them. If we are looking at the intersection then I am trying to justify Q1 and Q2 being the answer. But that isn't a choice, right?

OpenStudy (thedj4jc):

It's possible to be one or the other, but not both. All the problem says is "Click on the solution set graphic until the correct one is displayed." Which doesn't explain anything.

OpenStudy (luffingsails):

I know... lol... that's what I am struggling with. And you say when you click on the solution set the other answers change? (what a stupidly written problem, btw).

OpenStudy (thedj4jc):

When I click it, it changes to one of these - {point in Quadrant I} {point in Quadrant II} {} Or empty set (I'd have to agree)

OpenStudy (luffingsails):

If you click again, does it change?

OpenStudy (luffingsails):

Oh, I see. Those are the three things that are displayed when you click. But the graphic doesn't change?

OpenStudy (luffingsails):

Sorry, I am being dense here.

OpenStudy (thedj4jc):

The graphic doesn't change, the answers cycle through as you click them. It's fine!! Most people really don't like or understand how my school curriculum works. It's really hard to explain without looking at it.
