The nutrition facts label on a food package lists "iron 50%." What does this figure indicate?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

when a food label says that your item contains 50% of your daily recommended value of iron, it is telling you that it is an iron rich food, it also indicates that it contains half of your daily value of iron. ~hope this is the answer you were looking for (:

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its 50% of your daily intake for iron but only if you are on a 2,000 calorie diet. if you are on a different diet then the percentages change.
