@radar , I think since the question states that resistance increases, it's fair to assume that the question means that the circular cross section is decreasing in size, not the wire length. But you do raise a good point!

1. If the length of the wire made smaller then its resistance decreases. 2. If the wire is made thin i.e if the area of cross section made smaller then its resistance increases.
