So you want to start by distributing. Remember to distribute the negative sign through! -2 - 10a = -6a -18 Then get like terms on the same sides! 4a = 16 or -4a = -16 (you should get one of these two). Dive both sides by 4 to get the a by itself a = 4 should be your answer:) Feel free to ask any questions!
