How do I write a rough draft of an expository essay?
just write about something that u love or admire or know alot about.
The rough draft is the first thing you write after thinking about the subject and doing whatever research is required. You sit and start to write. You put down all the ideas that go with the topic. It is not the finished product. The rough draft may still have problems, such as spelling, punctuation and grammar errors, or less than perfect organization. The important thing is that you now have words on paper to look at and refine. In the introductory paragraph you write your thesis which is your attitude toward your subject/topic. "Gardening is really healthy exercise." or "Gardening does not really count as exercise." Then you tell what you are going to say. "Gardening is more than just pulling a few weeds or cutting some flowers or cutting the grass; there is quite a bit of strenuous work to keep a garden in good shape. A gardener can get a real workout in even a small garden." Usually in a 4-5 paragraph essay, each of the middle 3 paragraphs are used to support one part of the thesis. "People in gyms spend time lifting weights to work their muscles. the use the weights to create resistence, Gardeners pull weeds. The roots of the weeds can go deep into the earth. Pulling against the roots creates resistence and lets the gardener work her mussels.' The second paragraph might discuss how gardeners bend and stand repeatedly. The third paragraph might be about digging holes to put in new plants. The final paragraph ties everything together; it restates the thesis in a different way. It might give an example of someone who got fit by gardening. After you have written everything you need to say, you read it - aloud is better than silent for this purpose-paying attention to what you have. You ask yourself: does this make sense? does it send a clear message? does it cover what I want to say? You check the mechanical aspects; spelling, punctuation... [ notice the spelling/word choice errors I included in the example? Spell check does not catch everything.} Are your support paragraphs in the best order to send your message. The best concrete example I can give you is comparing a rough draft to completing a 1,000 piece jig saw puzzle. The rough draft is similar to spilling all the pieces onto a table and grouping them- all possible frame pieces, all the sky pieces, all the grass pieces. You know you have everything you need and it's all laid out, but it still does not look anything like the picture on the box cover.

@Lyssy10 I JUST ALUGGHED REALLY HAARD AT YOUR OXMMCENT OGM Okay, but to write an expository essay, you must first find your topic. After you have done so, you will begin by making a thesis. A thesis is basically a statement in which you state your opinion or thought on the topic. This will all go in the introduction. Along so, make sure you briefly state your reasons to back up your thoughts. These reasons will be later separated into three different different paragraphs, or the body of the essay. In each paragraph you will support your reason with details and facts. Finally is the conclusion. In the conclusion, you "conclude". You may do so by restating your thesis, and using an "if, then" statement to put closure on your essay. The whole point of an expository essay is to explain your opinion or reason. For a draft, write it as though you were writing a real essay. Its okay to make mistakes since its a draft or a rough sketch of your essay.
