A bag of balloons has 2 red, 13 green, 17 yellow, and 9 orange. What is the probability that a randomly picked balloon would be green or orange? A. 15/41 B. 19/41 C. 22/41

OpenStudy (anonymous):

P(A or B) = P(A) + P(B) So basically we take the sum of the probability of picking a green balloon and the probability of picking and orange balloon.

The answer is C

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Good to know :P hahaha

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Are you sure about your answer though?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im looking over it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Probability of choosing a green balloon +Probability of choosing an orange balloon

OpenStudy (anonymous):

13 + 9 = 22 so basically I am sure about my answer because then again Im summing up which is im adding it up

OpenStudy (anonymous):

summing is adding its just another way of saying it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and it is 22

OpenStudy (anonymous):

basically it is 22/41 then

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes you were correct. Just wanted to make sure you understood the process

Thank you
