The answer is 36 gallons To work out 1 fifth.... 45 divided by 5 = 9 To work out 4 fifths.... 9x4 = 36
The answer is 36
exactly
My math book requires me to show work
I gave you a link....
The first answer is 36" you see 3x96=288 so all the plates together are 288/8 of an inch since 1 inch is 8/8 you divide 288 by 8 and that gives you the amount of whole inches. 4/5 of 45 gallons is 36 gallons, you see if you divide 45 by 5 that tells you what 1/5 of 45 is which is 9 then if you want to find what 4/5 is you simply multiply 9 times 4 which is 36. 4/5 of 64 is 51.2 you try it and see if you come up with the same thing
