All of the following are true about the beginnings of industrialization EXCEPT: Industrialization started because there was a great demand for textiles produced in England. The new machines invented to make textile production more efficient were too large to keep in the home, so factories were built. The first factories were powered by steam engines, but later converted to water mills because coal was scarce. In the late 1700s, industrialization spread to other countries, such as the United States, Germany, and later Japan.
