What is the mean of the set of numbers? {–11, 22, –2, –3} A. –6.5 B. –1.5 C. 1.5 D. 6.5
i need help
The mean is the average in a set of numbers. To find mean you have to add up all the numbers in a set and then divide what you get by the number of numbers in the set. So this set has 4 numbers thats what you'll divide by. Can you add up the numbers in the set?
yes 1 sec
6
so take 6 and divide it by 4
and a negative plus a negative is a negative, i was thinking of a negative times a negative which is a positive, sorry about that
And you know with multiple choice questions in math you can test out each answer to which one is correct. So if you want you could take the numbers in a, b c and d and try multiply them by 4 or adding them 4 times to see if you get 6
and the one that gets you to 6 would be your mean
And thats basically all there is to finding mean. Two steps 1st. ADD together all your numbers in the set 2nd. DIVIDE the answer you get by the # of numbers in the set
