Suleyman also known as Suleyman the Magnificent and Suleyman the lawmaker was actually a sultan of the Ottoman Empire, one the major Muslim Empires in history. The Safavid was a big Muslim empire in Persia and they were the rivals of the Ottomans. He did build magnificent mosques however, one of them was a grand mosque called the Suleymaniye. Under him Islamic culture flourished.
