Really simple question, I'm just confused. ----- Number of days (x) 2 7 0 4 8 3 6 1 5 Number of photographs uploaded to a social networking site (y) 12 37 2 22 42 17 32 7 27 What does the y-intercept of the model represent? A: The total number of photographs uploaded daily B: The original number of photographs uploaded to the site C: The increase in the number of photographs uploaded to the site each day D: The decrease in the number of photographs uploaded to the site each day
hmm what's the y-intercept anyway?
i'm assuming I should graph it to find the y-intercept but not sure?
\(\large \begin{array}{ccllll} \textit{Number of days (x)}&\textit{photographs uploaded to site (y)} \\\hline\\ 2 & 12\\ 7& 37\\ 0& 2\\ 4& 22\\ 8& 42\\ 3& 17\\ 6& 32\\ 1& 7\\ 5& 27\\ \end{array}\) see the y-intercept there by any chance? do you know what's a y-intercept? notice -> "intercept", meaning, "touches" or when the graph "touches" the y-axis |dw:1427240122292:dw|
I tried graphing it two different ways - I'm aware of what an y-intercept is, this question is just giving me a hard time for no particular reason. I graphed it with an online source and THINK I found a y-intercept of 5.
well... notice the graph above it has a y-intercept, the graph is "touching" or "intercepting" the y-axis what's "x" at that point anyway?
when the y-intercept is 5? the x looks to be 22-ish? The plot isn't exact, so I'm guessing it'd be 27? because the x is 27 when the y is 5 in the question.
i have to go in a minute, fyi.
well... notice the graph above it has a y-intercept, the graph is "touching" or "intercepting" the y-axis what's "x" at that point anyway? any ideas? can you see what "x" is on the graph?
...on my graph, the x appears to be around the 22 marker when the y = 5 but I'm guessing it'd actually be 27, because that's the x when y = 5 in the question.
okay, wait. I'm confusing MYSELF here.
hehe
The y intercept is all of the side with the total photographs uploaded to a social networking site, which is y. Now which answer says what I just said.
A? Sorry - went to the store.
the answer is b because the y intercept is the beginning of the web sits log
Yea the answer is B
Thanks, both of you.
