Well I would think looking at the food label, and ingredients would be a start.

it can be in a solid for, e.g. in beef, the white marbleing in a steak is fat. Chocolate is made using a fat that is solid at room temperature. Oils such as Olive, Sunflower, Peanut, are all liquids that contain fat. not sure what else to write
