will give medal and fan how are particle physicists and Astronomers both considered science even though they study such different things?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

because all tho they study different things they like one deals with particles and the other deal with space they are both sciences because science dose not have to be the study of 1 thing its the study of many things hope this kinda helps

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Sociology is a science. Geology is a science. Astrology (not astronomy) is NOT a science. Creationisim is NOT a science. What do all the sciences have in common? Look at their methods and rules. What do all the non-sciences and psudo sciences have in common? Look at how they start... what sort of supposition do they make? Do they have any conclusions before they study things? As you look into those you will notice a trend in how science comes up with questions and answers them vs. how non-science comes up with answers and then rummages around for support. Sometimes people think these are the same thing, but there is one major difference. In science, you are always ready to give up a theory if it is proven wrong. In psudo-science you are always ready to come up with a new "foundation" if your old one is proven wrong.
