A hard candy has a radius of 9 mm. The candy has a spherical soft center with a radius of 6 mm, with a hard shell surrounding it. What is the volume of the hard shell? Use 3.14 to approximate pi and express your final answer in hundredths. I got 3052.08 when I tried, though I'm pretty sure I got it wrong. . .

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thats the total, including the soft center. you need to subtract the soft center from that. so do 3.14*4/3*6^3 to get 904.32

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so subtract 904.32 from 3053.08

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that would be 2147.76

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that would be your answer

okay, thank you for your help! c:
