What is the range of the data?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The picture is below

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Stem| Leaf ---------- 5 | 4 5 6 | 0 6 9 7 | 23455 8 | 1289 9 | 56 5|4 = 54

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Does that make any sense?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes, so to find the range you would take the largest number which is 96 and subtract it by the smallest number which is 54

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How do you know those are the highest and lowest numbers?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh and the answer is 42

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thats the right answer and i know those are the highest numbers because i followed the key to the stem and leaf graph 5|4 = 54

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So how did you know those were the lowest and highest numbers? Because i know the formula, highest number subtracted by the lowest number, but i don't know how to figure out the lowest and highest numbers because nowhere on the chart it says those two numbers so i was wondering how you knew that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I just did that for all the numbers |dw:1427311355586:dw|

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OHHHHHH This makes so much more sense now, Thnak you!

Thank you*
