As for chats, no one really goes back to it. Chats are in the present. People can search stuff, but they will not find anything that happened in the chats like 2 years ago.

Also people can search questions and find a link to it.

If you want to delete a post, ask a moderator.

Also, moderators can see everything that was deleted from a post, to a reply, to a chat message. Everything is archived.
