Why is it important to not overuse character's names in a story? (This is open-ended So go at it friends!)

OpenStudy (kyanthedoodle):

Because it's redundant. When you mention a character's name, and another sentence about that character follows, you can just replace the name with "him" or "her."

The overuse of a character's name can actually detract from the personality of the character. It also overshadows the style of writing. Repetition is a common syntactical error that present an amateur tone and creates redundancy.
