give medal . please help If f(x) = 2x2 + 3x and g(x) = x – 2, what is (f + g)(2)?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What is (f+g)(x) ? It's just the sum of f(x) and g(x).

OpenStudy (anonymous):

most likely , thats all its giving

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its writing and combining functions i no that though :p

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Then what are you having problems with?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i believe it wants me to solve for f and g but i dont no how to

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The question you have asked above is saying that you must add functions f and g then put in x = 2 and get back a value for y.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so you get (2x^2+3x) + (x -2) = 2x^2+4x - 2. Let x = 2, then you get 2(2)^2+4(2) - 2 which is 10.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you! :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No problem. Anything else?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

not at the moment. i appreciate it
