Is this right?Tan(x)= 50/54 50/54= 0.92 Tan(0.92)= lemme post the pic

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\tan(x) = \frac{ 50 }{ 54 }\] \[\tan^{-1} \frac{ 50 }{ 54 } = x\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so its tan-1 50/54=x?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's called arctan. If the tangent of angle x is (50/54), the arctan of (50/54) equals angle x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You have to put it in a calculator or something. In your case, angle x = 42.8 degrees

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you!!!! So much!!! Seriously you might have saved my geometry grade

OpenStudy (anonymous):

geometry? this is trigonometry lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Its my geometry class but we're doing trig

OpenStudy (welshfella):

the tan is the opposite side / adjacent side
