Which is caused by the earth's rotation? A. deflection of the winds to the left in the Northern Hemisphere B. deflection of the winds to the right in the Northern Hemisphere C. deflection of the winds to the right in the Southern Hemisphere D. uneven heating of both hemispheres by the sun

oh congrats on asking your first question

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It causes us to experience day and night. Also causes change in tide, gravitational pull and Coriolis force- Deflection of objects (wind, ocean currents, missiles) from traveling in a straight path, in proportion to the speed of Earth's rotation at different latitudes. Deflection is to the right in the Northern Hemisphere and to the left in the Southern Hemisphere; maxium at the poles and zero at the equator.

thanks :) it was my first in earth science anyway, ive asked some before in other subjects.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so based on what i gave you, what would you answer?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh cool and a maybe

OpenStudy (anonymous):

youre correct with the northern hemisphere, but its to the right, not the left. so B would be your correct answer :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh thanks for the medal and helping me

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im 95% sure that B is correct. if its not, go ahead and tell me later ok? id like to know if it was something else

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no problem! :)
