In a series circuit, what affect will adding more resistors to the circuit have? A. It will decrease the equivalent resistance which will decrease the total current. B. It will increase the equivalent resistance which will decrease the total current. C. It will increase the equivalent resistance which will increase the total current. D. It will decrease the equivalent resistance which will increase the total current. E. The number of resistors will not affect the circuit in anyway.

OpenStudy (radar):

Assuming the added resistors are also in series with the existing resistors, the resistance total will be the sum of the individual resistors. Hoping you can draw your own conclusion.

OpenStudy (kaley246):

E

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you both

OpenStudy (anonymous):

E !!

OpenStudy (radar):

It is not E. Think about it, if the total resistance is the sum of the resistors in a series circuit, and you add more resistors, what is the sum going to do.

OpenStudy (radar):

Look carefully at B.

OpenStudy (kaley246):

B
