OpenStudy (texaschic101):

are you familiar with distributing through the parenthesis ?

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

all that means is take the number outside of the parenthesis and multiply it by everything inside the parenthesis. 8(3x + 8) - 2 is the same as : 8 * 3x + 8 * 8 - 2 = 24x + 64 - 2...24x + 62
