Help please, I will give a medal. The following graph describes function 1, and the equation below it describes function 2: Function 1 https://gbwebacademy.brainhoney.com/Resource/22560073,A4C,0,5A,10/Assets/73990_53c0180c/09_00_g08_q02.gif Function 2 f(x) = -x2 + 4x + 1 Function has the larger maximum. (Put 1 or 2 in the blank space) (4 points)
@amistre64
Are you homeschooled?
@texaschic101
I do online yeah, why? @Diamond_Swag11
Me too! What school?
Just a school. Could someone please help me.
I don't know that answer sorry... ;C
Thanks for your help.
whats the highest point of function 1?
5?
@amistre64
function 1 is a picture, its higest point is when x=4, y=1 si its highest point is y=1
*so its ..
do you have any ideas on how to find the highest point of function 2?
Oh.. Okay
no not really
have you covered how to factor? or find the roots?
or how to determine the axis of symmetry perhaps?
I think but I am not very good at it
the highest, or lowest point on a x^2 function is along the x axis that is called the axis of symmetry when given: ax^2 + bx + c = 0, the axis of symmetry is formulated as: -b/(2a)
0 = -x^2 +4x +1 a b c so when x=-4/[2(-1)] we can determine the value of y
I am sorry I lost wifi @amistre64
