3 is order of operations some people learn PEDMAS to remember: parens, exponents, divide/multiply, add/subtract

Thanks phi

OpenStudy (phi):

what do you get for #3 ?

OpenStudy (phi):

for 6, they want "pounds per tart" or \[ \frac{pounds}{tart} \] which is a clue as to how to solve simplify \[ \frac{475 \ pounds}{1000 \ tarts} \] notice that to divide by 1000, you can do it the "fast way" and move the decimal point of the top number 3 places to the left.
