apparently when the world was still in a Pangea like state, the Aborigines migrated to Australia and eventually the land masses moved so far apart you get the Africa and Australia it is today! They have been there for over 50,000 years.

I figured the answer would be more useful to you first, then the explanation but some people like to jump the gun and assume I wasn't going to explain.
