1. Summer is having a pool party at her house. In the ice chest, there are 10 bottles of soda, 15 bottles of lemonade, and 15 bottles of water. If she randomly grabs a bottle from the ice chest, what is the probability it is either a soda or lemonade?

Is it multiple choice?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You need to find the sum of all the drinks in the ice chest. Probability is basically asking 'what s the chance..' so to figure out the chance that it'll be soda or lemonade you have to add those number (10+15) and put that over the sum of drinks. Why? Because of ALL (the sum) the drinks available you can only get some (10+15) that are water or lemonade. How can you get more if there are no more? Yo can't. Hope this helps
