Kate borrowed $400 from her friend. She will repay this amount plus 3 percent simple interest after one year. What is the total amount she will pay her friend? A.) $401.20 B.) $412.00 C.) $400.12 Will fan and medal

OpenStudy (dmndlife24):

3% = 0.03 We need to find the interest that shes gonna pay after one year and to do that we have to multiply 3% times the amount borrowed...but first we have to convert the percentage into a number like i did above... So 0.03 x 400 = 12 So she is going to have to pay back the total amount ($400) plus ($12)... What is $400 + $12 = ?
