Evaluate the function f(x)=4 x 7^x for x=-1 and x=2.

OpenStudy (superdavesuper):

put in x=-1 into the function so f(-1)= 4 (-1) 7^(-1) n u get the value for it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How do i get the value for it im not good at algebra at all.

OpenStudy (superdavesuper):

the valve is this: 4 (-1) 7^(-1) so what is 4*(-1) and what is 7^(-1)?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-4 and -7

OpenStudy (superdavesuper):

-4 is right but 7^(-1) is actually 1/7

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay so the answer is 4(-4) 7^(1/7) ?

OpenStudy (superdavesuper):

Hmm no, the answer is 4 (-1) 7^(-1) so it is -4/7

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh ok

OpenStudy (superdavesuper):
